How often should I change my engine Oil for Honda Accord?

I've been told 3000, but my owners manual says 7500. I have a 98 honda accord v6 with 128k. I currently drive 35 miles (one way) to school, 4 times a week. I don't drive aggressively or anything like and it's usually raining where i live. I'm using castrol synthetic blend at every oil change. There are likely three different service schedules in the owner's manual. Light, normal, and severe are what they're usually labeled. No one qualifies for "light." Not many qualify for "normal" either. 90% of vehicles are driven under what the manufacturer calls "severe." It basically just means you drive in a city. That being said, there's no way the manual says 7,500 under that schedule, most manufacturers say 3,000 miles and while it might be overkill, I think it's good practice. Think about it, you're only talking about two more oil changes a year, and if you stop wasting your money on synthetic oil that only equates to $40/year in extra oil changes. Why risk a $4,000 engine to save $40 a year?How often should I change my engine Oil for Honda Accord?if you use a good oil you can wait longer than with a cheap oil. many would have you think that all of many different oils all oxidize and such at the exact same rate and will be the same after whatever time has passed. nothing could be farther from the truth. with a good synthetic blend you should be ok for 5K or a little more miles. with the cheapest stuff made you will be needing a change far sooner like 2500-3K even if you engine is clean running with good oil control. if you ever check the oil and it seems very dark or smells bad change it period. i change mine not by time or miles but by smell, feel and appearance. when oil stinks of being burned its no good for an engine. when its filthy its no good for a gas engine. as your engine gets older though it will be harder on its oil and more frequent changes will be needed. with 120+K miles every 4-5K might be better than waiting til 6 or more. we have a subaru with about that mileage and its oil isn't even bad looking after 5K when we change it.
Dude, it's cheap insurance to change every 3000. I do in my '97 Accord with 110k. You are still racking up the miles so keep the engines blood fresh and clean. Change the air filter every 3 or 4 oil changes too. The elements are a little pricey because of the plastic housing but I like to breathe fresh, unrestricted air and your car does too. I use good quality oil and filters. I wouldn't use synthetic oil, don't wear polyester either. is not a set mileage its between 3000 to 8000 its when you want to.. its when its dirty its when its black or dark its not changing it 7500 is fine can do it before or after that can do it at 1000 miles most peopel do it a round 3000 i go about 5000 or more on it

If tranmission oil is changed every 10.000 Kms. will do. Most of the automobile the oil is changed every 10.000 Kms.
IF IT IS CONVINENT TO CHANGE AT 3000KMS IT IS EXCELLENT, OR AT 4000 IT IS GOOD, IF U R USEING SYNTHETIC OIL U CAN CHANGE AT 7500. OR UR ENGIEN MAY BE DAMAGED .GRADUALLY.
every 3000 miles, owners manual goes by the car just sitting there and under very light conditions. I wouldn't wait until 5k if it was my car, then again I also hate parking outside.
