How do you reset the Maintenance Required light on a Toyota Prius?

I've looked in the manual but it does not say or else i missed it.How do you reset the Maintenance Required light on a Toyota Prius?It took me a while the first time I had to change my oil in my 2004.

Try this:

1. Begin with power off.

2. Press the "Power" Button while pressing down the brake petal, (Prius goes to "Ready" mode.

3. Press the "ODO/Trip" button and select "ODO"on the display.



I still have to look it up every time I need to reset it.

4. Press the "POWER" button to turn the car off.

5. Press and Hold the brake petal with your foot.

6. Press and hold the "ODO/TRIP" button. Press the "POWER" button., (Prius goes to "Ready" mode.

7. Continue to hold the "ODO/TRIP" button, with in a few seconds the "ODO" display on the dash will flash "------" and then for 1 second the display will read "000000" then,the Maintenance Reminder Light will go out and the "ODO" now displays your correct odometer mileage.

8. Release the "ODO/TRIP" button.

9. The Maintenance Light is now Reset (off).How do you reset the Maintenance Required light on a Toyota Prius?This also works on 2008 Prius Models. I just reset my maintenance light after getting an oil change. Thanks for the post! :)

How do you reset the Maintenance Required light on a Toyota Prius?The Maint Reqd light is only on North American NHW20 Prius (2004-current model year).



At 4500 miles since last reset, the Maint Reqd light will blink at you on startup (very easy to miss seeing it). At 5000 miles since last reset, the Maint Reqd light will stay on solid.



It's just a reminder by miles that you are due for the next scheduled maintenance. It is not smart (doesn't go by time, or do any oil analysis), just a mile counter. Usually that is an oil change/tire rotation: http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/



Should your dealer forget to reset it, or you go to an independent mechanic or DIY, you can reset the light yourself.
