How much boost can i put on a honda civic?

I got a 1994 honda civic ex with a d16z6, I got like 3 piece design metal head gasket from Fel-Pro. That is the only thing i up graded on it, so how much boost do you thinks is safe to put on.How much boost can i put on a honda civic?hey friend the first guy doesnt know what he's talking about. You CAN boost anything with stock interals as long as boost is kept at 7lbs or lower and you have it tuned properly. You can run cars like that well over 100xxx. Back to ur question the d16 isnt made for boost so 5lbs tops but if ur gonna boost it u'll wanna play with it. I will say the first time you exceed rec. boost levels u'll bend the hell out a valve. just think ur engine is 1600cc and ur trying to cram a ton more air in fuel in there and if ur parts arent able to handle it BANG....gameover. Good luck and happy tuning. How much boost can i put on a honda civic? An upgraded head gasket doesn't mean your ready to handle boost. There's a lot more things (mainly the internals) that need to be done for you to boost. Your motor is still stock, and running boost (any boost) will probably not be a good idea. I see a lot of people running 5-8psi of boost on stock civic engines and they'll get lucky if the motor lasts 10,000 miles after going boost. How much boost can i put on a honda civic?Everyone is wrong so far. The D series is perfect for boost. The only weak points are the rods, the rod %26amp; head bolts.

Shot peen the rods (cheaper than buying forged)

And buy some ARP bolts.

Simple as that.

Most important thing is to not skimp on a good tune.

And you won't have a torqueless wonder like the B16aHow much boost can i put on a honda civic?
3-5 lbs. is all you can do safely.... The stock d16 motor is not made for a turbo... if you want to turbo it, do a swap (b16 is best) or do you internals (Pistons, Rods, Lifters) and put Low Compression pistons in it. I wouldn't reccomend turboing a d16 period though
