Is there any difference between a Dodge, Toyota or Chevrolet?

As far as i can see they are all the exact same aside from a few minor details on the "body" of the car. The only difference is the team that runs them so why do people think it matters if they run a "chevy", "dodge" or "toyota".

I put them in inverted commas because they are all the same. If they arent whats the difference? Is there any difference between a Dodge, Toyota or Chevrolet? The bodies are pretty much exactly the same besides the sticker on the front but the motors are way differentIs there any difference between a Dodge, Toyota or Chevrolet?
Micheal Waltrip's 55 Toyota is a completly different animal than the 22 of Dave Blaney.

Both are Toyota's but they are built by different teams, in different garages, with different parts (OK'ed by NASCAR) With close to 80 people per team(avg), that seems like alot of people to assemble something.

Motor's are a little different alot of teams buy motor's from bigger teams like HMS, Roush/Yates, and RCR. With the exception of the few who still build them in -house.Is there any difference between a Dodge, Toyota or Chevrolet?Well there are differences that may not be seen each company builds the engine a little differently so it makes a big difference on performance.

Wile it is true in most Nascar stock races the engines are realitivly the same, it's the smallest little things that make a difference, it could be the metal used, it could be a type of fuel, or even the size of the fuel tank, tires make a hudge difference, also your pit crew and how fast they can change tires and so forth and so on.

There are many factors to consider.
There are differences in horsepower, acceleration and fuel mileage. Do you even watch racing? Is there any difference between a Dodge, Toyota or Chevrolet?Chevrolet and Dodge are AMERICAN, toyota is japanese.

NASCAR is for AMERICAN cars. toyota sucks. So do people who buy them.Is there any difference between a Dodge, Toyota or Chevrolet?
The engine is the biggest difference. If you could see the engines side by side by side and apart, you'd be able to notice a lot easier. A complete race ready Chevrolet Monte Carlo unpainted and unstickered would be almost identical to a Dodge or Toyota. Each car company spends lots of money developing the engines used in the Cup series.
You are correct. Mechanically the cars are extremely similar and the bodies (before the COT) were the same with only very slight differences in the front end/bumper and the rear spoiler. With the car of tomorrow the differences in the body are much more minor. The engines are very tightly regulated when it comes to a lot of different aspects to the point where the engines are very evenly matched and very similar to one another. By tightly regulated I mean that nascar has approved only specific engine builders to use specific models of heads (including valves, rockers, etc) and specific models of camshafts.

Also, the idea that the nascar cars bear any connection at all to the streets cars made and sold by the manufacturers is a complete MYTH that is propagated by nascar and the car makers to try to use nascar to sell street cars. You can research it all you want but none of the manufacturers are currently building street cars with partial tube frame chassis, running 5.7L carburated, pushrod v-8 engines using leaded gas.

The reason why chevy seems to win so much is because there are simply more chevy cars out there and recently the chevy teams have been front runners. But these things can be cyclical. Is there any difference between a Dodge, Toyota or Chevrolet?
Yes. The nose says Impala or Monte Carlo on the Chevys. Dodges says Avenger or Charger. Toyota says Camry. Ford has the Fusion which you fail to mention and I wasn't sure you mean that Fords are somehow different. They are not. Parts and engineering expertise are usually provided by each manufacturer for their cars. The templates have the same dimensions. Another major difference is number of wins in 2007. Chevrolet has 17; Ford has 3; Dodge has 2; and Toyota has 0.
ours run on corn, thiers on rice! hah!
You're comparing body style. Of course they are gonna look the same as they are trying to be aerodynamic on the track. The difference is in the motor.
There are differences in horsepower
