How many miles can you expect a Honda Prelude to last for?

Would buying a one owner, all stock 2000 Honda Prelude with 110,000 miles be a bad move. It's a five speed and has been taken care of. I can get it for $5000.How many miles can you expect a Honda Prelude to last for?check yahoo autos, cars.com etc to confirm the price for a retail, trade-in and private party sale before you part with 5K

also spend $75 for a mechanic to check it out

how long will it last, with care...........the engine 250 K

the a/c, clutch, starter, electric gadgets.....they'll be having issues soon

I know the Korean Cars Aren't Cool, but they are getting better and better looking, perhaps a new one of those which has a100000 mile warranty is worth considering.......

some are going for $10K

good luckHow many miles can you expect a Honda Prelude to last for?
Hondas tend to go to around 200,000 miles, give or take, depending how they're treated, before they become uneconomical to fix.

It isn't that they're dead at 200,000 miles, it's that by that time you've got a car that's probably worth about 1-2000 dollars, and it's due for about 1000 dollars in maintenance, and people tend not to be willing to do that.

You'd better make CERTAIN that prelude has had its timing belt replaced. It was due at (probably) 100,000 miles. If you don't have proof, you're going to to have to do it yourself. That's a few hundred bucks, at least, right there. How many miles can you expect a Honda Prelude to last for?Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Be aware of the timing belt situation, and know about the common parts that tend to go bad in these cars. Mufflers are pretty much a joke, and radiators can go bad quickly depending on your climate. I have had a 98 Accord for 2 years, 40K miles, and so far the only problem I've had was a dead battery. My car wasn't pampered though, but just goes to show how long a Honda can last without screwing up on you.How many miles can you expect a Honda Prelude to last for?
Sound like a good deal to me, these cars will go easily for 200,000+ miles without any major problem with simple maintenance. I have an 01 with 45000 miles and love the car, it is not very good in the snow though so if you have real winters where you live you will need a winter car or truck also. How many miles can you expect a Honda Prelude to last for? That is a great buy..car and driver had the prelude on the ten best list for 10 years off and on...i have a buddy with a 94 prelude and 213.000 miles and it runs great with a few minor kinks...hondas are great cars but i would get a mechanic to look at it first just to make sure the owner isnt selling it for any particular reason he doesnt want to tell you
