I have a 2002 Honda XR400r with low hours just sitting in my parents back yard. I don't ride dirt much anymore but still have this bike. I want to see if anyone has input for me. Its a great bike but i want to know if its worth it for me to do street legal conversion or just sell it and get a street bike. Please let me know as soon as possible! Im in Northern California if that makes a difference. Cheers! Is it better to dual sport my Honda XR400r or sell it and buy a street bike?i think you should sell it
making a dirt bike street legal i just a huge hassel, due to needing to put on turn signals, headlights, brake lights, etc
and CA emission laws are the worst out of any state, and you'd have a hard time getting it to pass that
just sell it and get a street bikeIs it better to dual sport my Honda XR400r or sell it and buy a street bike?I'm not sure you could do a "street legal" conversion due to California emmissions requirements.
What it would cost to do so, to bring it up to the capabilities of a halfway decent street bike, would be more than the cost of selling it and getting a halfway decent street bike.Is it better to dual sport my Honda XR400r or sell it and buy a street bike?I'd just sell it. Sounds like you don't like it so much and maybe the purchase was a mistake. It's hard to sell though, almost like the bike was a part of the family. Funny thing is, stocks and bonds are the same way.
