I want to know, basically, every difference between the different Honda engines. So any info you have on the B, D, H, J, and K (and any others I might be missing) would be amazing. What are the differences between the different Honda engine series?Basically "A-Z" for Honda Engine Codes is Similar to this:
A-Series Came in the Older Accords/Preludes. and Acura Vigors (non-US), these engines some of which were carburetor and the other half were fuel injected (for more specific info search wikipedia for honda a engine link below)
B-Series is WAY more common than the A Series, B-series some are VTEC some are not, they came in anything from Japanese Domestic Market CR-X's/Civic's To The Integra's. Even Some Del Sols had B16s, The 99-00 Civic Si (or Sir Canada) was equipped with a B16A2.(search honda b engine on wiki)
C-Series is the V6 Engine that came in the 94ish Honda Accords.
D-Series is what came in most Civic's Crx's Del Sol's. Mostly all are Single Over Head Cam (SOHC) with the exception of the D16A8/9 or DOHC ZC (same thing basically)
E-Series is what came in the 70's Civic's or sometimes called CVCC's. till about 85ish (guessing).
F-Series is basically the same thing as a D-series would be to a civic, but for the accord chassis, It would be considered the Big Block of Honda SOHC engines, this was in most accords/some preludes. F and H series motors share the same mounting points as well so it would be ideal for someone to swap a H22 into a F-series Accord.
G-Series engine is an inline 5 cylinder gasoline engine, originally used in the 1992 Acura Vigor, Honda Rafaga, Honda Ascot and Honda Inspire. (quoting wiki)
H-Series is what primarily came in Accords/Preludes, these engines are the DOHC VTEC version of Honda's F-series engines, there is also a F20B which is a destroked version of the H22 (identical almost) it was designed to be for racing under the 2.0 liter class.
I-Series Doesnt exist to my knowledge
J-Series is the V6 engines that replaced the C-series i have seen in Accords.
K-Series is what Many Newer Honda's Use, ie the Acura RSX/Honda Integra, Civic Si, Accord 4 cylinder, Acura RDX, Acura TSX, Honda Element, Honda CR-V, Acura CSX (canadian civic) its newer i-VTEC technoledgy, plus DOHC.
L-Series is only for the Japanese Market Honda Fit's.
M-Series does not exist yet
N-Series is one of the rarest honda engines, they are Diesel or i-CTDi (Intelligent Commonrail Turbocharged Direct injection)
O-P-Q = do not exist yet
R-series is what comes in the newer 06+ civic's, crv, and accords (08+), they are iVTEC technology as well, but are single cam.
