I would like to get the plastic bumpers back to their original color, although some model years are more black than others. Will using the back to black product be too dark for this year? I have an orange Honda Element 2005 and the plastic parts are not quite black, more of a dark grey charcoal color. I've heard of some products, but does anyone know the correct one? What is the best product for the plastic bumper parts on my Honda Element 2005?I am really fussy (my wife uses a different word) about keeping my cars looking nice and used to own an early model Element. I found Mothers Back To Black to be the best product for keeping the plastic panels looking nice. You need to apply it evenly and buff it all off just like you wax painted panels. The product name is misleading. It will not change the color of the panels. Other Element owners use Aerospace 303 Protectant, but rain makes it streak if you don't get it all buffed out. B2B is more forgiving.
You can't just paint the panels with a rattle can, It's a very complex process that requires proper prep, primer and polymer paint. There are no shortcuts with this approach.
Never, and I repeat NEVER, use Armor All on the panels, Over time it will degrade the plastic and turn it a chalky light grey.
