i have a honda accord with a v6 engine. but i want to make it supercharged. is there anyway i could convert the engine into a turbo? or supercharged? if so, how, and what would it need. How would i make a regular v6 honda accord supercharged?a supercharger %26amp; a turbo are both forced induction systems - and create large increases in hp by forcing quantities of air into the intake system of a properly prepared car.
the quantity of air delivered is measured in p.s.i. and is commonly referred to as boost.
when installed at the same level of boost a supercharger %26amp; a turbo will provide the same increase in power.
a turbo is a turbine that is driven off of the engine's exhaust gas.
a supercharger is driven by a system of pulleys by the engine.
while a turbo is more efficient in low to mild boost installations a supercharger is preferable, because its lighter, easier to install , usually cheaper (certainly labor costs are much lower), runs cooler %26amp; delivers power earlier %26amp; in a more linear fashion than a turbo. a supercharger is easier to upgrade to higher levels of boost.
-in either case to prepare a car you require:
cold air intake %26amp; throttle body spacer
performance exhaust, catbacks
performance headers
re tune of the engine's management system by a performance shop (pro-tune)
these modifications will allow you to run a mild boost installation, of about 5lbs - which will increase your hp over stock by approx.35%
because these forced induction systems create high heat-engine stress to go beyond a mild boost %26amp; to prevent chance of engine failure, you are advised to further build out your engine:
-bottom end, forged pistons/rods
-performance heads

all in - if you are depending on shop labor for the installation, a forced induction system will cost in the range of plus$5000, the other necessary modifications (intake, headers, exhaust_probably $1500-2000.
if you want to build out the engine to run higher levels of boost-serious money.
increased power is not cheap and especially if you depend on shop labor for the installations .....unless you can do the wrenching yourself, often it is cheaper to buy power on the hoof - lots of modified cars around, rather than modifying your existing car.

okay...an engine works by air, fuel and spark to create power...so if u put a turbo or supercharger on you'll be adding more air, so then you'll need more fuel, which would be a stronger fuel pump and bigger injectors. but thats not all...you could keep the internals of your engine stock but more than likely you will end up wearing them down or they will break. if u dont want that to happen your gonna need forged internals. now after all that your gonna need to get your car custom tuned...so that your air and fuel will be mixing equally so it wont be running to rich or lean. If you plan on boosting more than like 12psi...you might want to look into a stronger tranny, or ull just wear that one to crap and itll break...but good luck...hopefully i helped a littleHow would i make a regular v6 honda accord supercharged?well if you melt down the block and make sand molds for turbo parts i suppose you could make a turbo
but since you still want to drive the car i suppose maybe buy a turbo kit for it and install it lolHow would i make a regular v6 honda accord supercharged?
comptech is the only company that makes a supercharger for it if it is a 98+. no turbo kits that i know of.How would i make a regular v6 honda accord supercharged?thats just stupid. you would probably ruin the engine. that isnt a formula one car. its a family sedan
